NEW YORK – Yankees right-hander Jake Cousins is slated to have season-ending Tommy John surgical procedure on Wednesday, supervisor Aaron Boone stated Monday evening after New York’s 1-0, 11-inning loss to the Angels.
Cousins was a helpful reliever for the Yankees in 2024, showing in 37 video games and posting a 2.37 ERA over 38 innings. He appeared in six video games within the postseason and had a 9.00 ERA in 5 innings.
The 30-year-old Cousins has a 2.78 ERA in 88 reduction appearances over 4 Main League seasons.
The Yankees positioned Cousins on the 60-day injured listing on March 27 with a proper elbow flexor pressure. Cousins appeared in two rehab video games with Excessive-A Hudson Valley earlier than being shut down with what Boone described as a UCL damage.
