The Utah Division of Wildlife Assets studies a black bear has been euthanized in Garfield County after biting a person who was sleeping in a cot.
The incident occurred Tuesday within the Bryce Woodlands group someday between 10:30 pm and 11 pm. The 43-year-old man was sleeping in a cot when he was woken up by a black bear who wandered into his tent. The person was within the space together with co-workers who had been tenting whereas constructing a cabin.
After getting bit, the person fought off the bear and was pursued by the bear as he ran to the protection of his truck. Certainly one of his co-workers fired two photographs and the bear ran away. The person was handled for a big laceration on his arm which required stitches and a scratch on his again.
Utah Division of Wildlife Assets biologists and Division of Pure Assets officers responded to the realm Wednesday afternoon and had been in a position to observe down the bear. Per DWR coverage, the bear was euthanized after which submitted for illness testing.
Utah Division of Wildlife Assets consider the bear could have been displaced by the close by France Canyon Hearth, which has burned greater than 7,600 acres.
