David Benavidez is again within the ring on November 22 when he faces Anthony Yarde. The competition headlines Ring IV: Evening of Champions, dwell from ANB Area in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Benavidez places his WBC gentle heavyweight title on the road.
Benavidez (30-0, 24 KOs) was final in motion in February, taking over David Morrell of Cuba. Battling it out in Las Vegas, the unbeaten Phoenix native introduced his interim WBC 175-pound belt to the ring, which he had claimed towards Oleksandr Gvozdyk final June.
Benavidez and Morrell went the total 12-round distance. Within the eleventh spherical, Benavidez suffered a knockdown, whereas Morrell was deducted some extent for punching after the bell. Ultimately, the judges scored the battle 115-111, 115-111, and 118-108 in favor of Benavidez, who retained his strap.
In his subsequent battle this Saturday in Riyadh, David Benavidez defends one of many 4 main belts after being elevated to full champion when Dmitry Bivol relinquished the title. He’s opposed by British contender Anthony Yarde (27-3, 24 KOs), who makes his third bid to grow to be a champion.
