Ski patrollers are urging warning off piste this Christmas week, following the dying of a younger British skier. NEW
The 24-year-old died in a fall within the French resort of Les Arcs on Thursday 18th December.
A press release from the resort stated he was snowboarding within the Chavonnes off piste space.
The alarm was raised at 2.29pm and ski patrollers instantly rushed to the scene.
First assist was administered and the medial helicopter from Courchevel arrived at 3pm.
Regardless of all their efforts, the person couldn’t be resuscitated.
“The Les Arcs ski space extends its deepest sympathies to the sufferer’s household and family members,” the assertion stated.

In response to media stories, the 24-year-old started descending the steep slope above the Chavonnes avalanche barrier.
He misplaced his steadiness and fell a number of hundred metres, going over a rocky ledge and touchdown in an outdated snowdrift.
A second skier, who was trapped on the slope was airlifted to security.
The ski patrol is urging warning on steep off-piste routes, particularly this early within the season and the place the snowpack is skinny and arduous.
There was no important new snowfall in Les Arcs and far of the Alps for a number of weeks and none is forecast this facet of the New Yr.
