Cal Males, Ladies, Sweep USC in Shut Twin Meet Behind Keaton Jones, Mary-Ambre Moluh
The Cal Golden Bears swept the USC Trojans in a males’s and ladies’s twin meet on Saturday, Jan. 16.
Cal received the lads’s meet 178-122 and the ladies’s meet 156-144.
The Cal girls opened the meet with a win within the 400 medley relay. Mary-Ambre Moluh, Silje Slyngstadil, Annie Jia and Mia West received in 3:30.32.
Moluh received the 100 backstroke in 51.24 and 200 again (1:53.48). West received the 100 free in 47.51, simply forward of USC’s Minna Abraham (47.55). Jia received the 100 fly (51.47).
Moluh, Lilou Ressencourt, Jia and West received the 400 free relay in 3:11.69.
Cal’s Ella Cosgrove received the 1000 free in 9:40.58 forward of USC’s Claire Tuggle (9:41.02).
USC’s Justina Kozan received three occasions – the 200 fly (1:54.90), 400 IM (4:07.46) and 500 free (4:41.02).
Abraham received the 200 free in 1:41.69, edging West (1:41.74). She additionally received the 50 free in 22.06. Bella Brito received the 100 breaststroke in 59.85 and 200 breast (2:10.22).
Within the males’s meet, Cal’s Keaton Jones received the 200 free in 1:34.17 and the 200 backstroke in 1:40.90.
Cal’s Nathan Wiffen received the 1000 free in 8:50.30. Yamato Okadome received he 100 breast (51.70) and 200 breast (1:50.77). Nikolas Antoniou received the 50 free in 18.75, going 1-2-3 with Nans Mazellier (19.78) and Samuel Quarles (19.81). Mazellier received he 100 free in 42.82. Eduardo Oliviera Moraes received the five hundred free in 4:15.41. Freddy Klein received the 400 IM (3:47.43).
Cal’s Manzellier, Lucca Battaglini, Antoniou and Jones received the 400 free relay in 2:50.53.
USC’s Vaggelis Makrygiannis, Junhao Chan, Michal Chmielewski and Oliver Sogaard-Andersen received the 400 medley relay in 3:04.04.
Makrygiannis received the 100 again in 46.20. Chmielewski received the 200 fly (1:41.77) and 100 fly (45.08).
