PITTSBURGH — The Pirates positioned outfielder/first baseman Ryan O’Hearn on the 10-day injured checklist with a strained proper quad on Sunday and activated outfielder Jake Mangum from the IL.
O’Hearn was injured whereas taking part in first base in Pittsburgh’s 6-0 loss to the Phillies on Saturday. He collided with runner Bryson Stott whereas catching a pop-up within the third inning.
Mangum had been sidelined since Could 6 with a strained left hamstring. He has a .260/.333/.288 slash line with 5 stolen bases in 30 video games after he was acquired from the Rays together with Brandon Lowe in a three-team commerce on Dec. 19.
Mangum was within the lineup as the middle fielder for Sunday’s sport towards the Phillies. He completed 0-for-2 with a stroll within the Bucs’ 6-0 loss.
