Gravel Weekend delivered a good battle for the highest spots with Marjolein van’t Geloof (Laboral Kutxa-Fundacion Euskadi) claiming the highest spot within the girls’s elite race in a good four-way dash whereas it was a two-way battle for males’s elite winner Eddy Le Huitouze (The Grip) in Tukums.
It was an early break for Le Huitouze within the Latvian spherical of the UCI Gravel World Sequence, settling in for a 110km effort out entrance with Linus Østdal (PAS Racing) who got here second after the dash decider. Magnus Bak Klaris (PAS Racing) was third, 36 seconds again.
The races performed out on a 140km course, with rolling terrain and a mixture of roads, from large to brief single-track sections. It was the primary yr the race was on the calendar as a UCI Gravel World Sequence qualifier.
The highest 25% of every class, and full podium, will earn a spot on the UCI Gravel World Championships, which is being held in Nannup, Western Australia on October 10 and 11.
