Wawrinka awarded wild card into Aussie Open

MELBOURNE, Australia — Three-time main champion Stan Wawrinka was amongst 9 wild-card entries awarded Friday for the Australian Open in January.

Tennis Australia mentioned Wawrinka can be joined at Melbourne Park — the place the principle draw begins on Jan. 12 — by Australians Tristan Schoolkate, Li Tu, James McCabe, Daria Saville, Ajla Tomljanovic, Emerson Jones, Talia Gibson and Maya Joint.
