Surviving the gruelling quarter-final, which took two hours and 17 minutes, meant Alcaraz has made the ultimate 4 of the occasion for the second time and reached a twelfth ATP 1000 semi-final.
The 22-year-old will face 2021 champion Alexander Zverev for a spot within the remaining, after the world quantity three overcame sickness to beat American Ben Shelton in straight units.
The German wanted a medical timeout in the beginning of the second set after showing to wrestle along with his respiratory.
The break did little to hinder his efficiency, as Zverev wrapped up a 6-2 6-2 win in only one hour and 17 minutes.
“Proper now, I am not feeling too nice. I am unsure what occurred,” stated Zverev.
