Alcaraz, Sabalenka top seeds at Australian Open

MELBOURNE, Australia — Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka had been formally made the top-seeded gamers for the Australian Open which begins Sunday at Melbourne Park.

The announcement on Wednesday comes a day forward of the event draw.

Two-time defending champion Jannik Sinner was seeded second, with Alexander Zverev third and 10-time champion Novak Djokovic fourth. Sabalenka, Iga Światek and Coco Gauff are the highest three seeds within the ladies’s draw for the second consecutive 12 months.

Madison Keys returns because the defending champion and the ninth-seeded participant, one among 4 American ladies among the many high 10 seeds.
