Ultimate ideas on the Altra Timp 6
JOHN: I actually consider that for $165, the Timp 6 is a strong worth for coaching runs and races on various terrain. I had no intention of getting a PR on Boyers Furnace, however I did! A big cause why is that I ran with a straight-up legend (thanks, Heather), and the Timp 6 felt nice on all sections of the run. Sure, there have been some tough elements. When operating on the tougher rocky sections, I felt the match was off, and my foot acquired shifted round a bit within the shoe, however total, my ft seemed good post-run.
So did I get annoyed and scream some profanity, grunts, and frustration? Sure. However this shoe did a lot extra good than dangerous. What impressed me probably the most was the way it felt good on the runnable path sections, and I used to be in a position to run 8-minute to excessive 7-minute tempo on the highway on this shoe, which for me is nice as a result of often I don’t like operating on the highway in any respect in path sneakers.
I had excessive expectations for the Timp 6 as a result of I loved the 5 a lot. I really feel that the 6 is even higher (regardless of my occasional disappointment with the match on exhausting terrain). For the low price ticket, you get a really protecting shoe higher, midsole, and outsole that shield you from rocks — nothing harm me on the market that I kicked, my foot swiped throughout, or I stepped on — that’s large on exhausting trails. I extremely advocate the Timp 6 for anybody doing numerous terrains, from mountain operating to simpler trails to having to run some highway, the shoe works!
I’ve not run within the newest Speedgoat, however I really feel just like the Timp 6 is similar to the Caldera 8, which was considered one of my favourite path sneakers of 2025. The Timp is barely costlier however presents a really related match and flexibility for all path conditions, and if you must run on some roads, it doesn’t really feel terrible.
Kudos to Altra for constructing on the Timp and making a strong replace.
