After going hitless towards the Giants over the weekend, De La Cruz recorded 4 extra-base hits in a recreation for the primary time in his profession, crushing a pair of homers to bookend two doubles within the Reds’ 10-3 series-opening win at loanDepot park.
De La Cruz grew to become simply the second Reds participant (since a minimum of 1901) to have two doubles and two dwelling runs in a single recreation. The opposite participant? Paul O’Neill, who achieved the feat on Might 11, 1991 — 10 years and eight months earlier than De La Cruz was born.
