Australia's Ebden & Peers win men's doubles gold

Matthew Ebden and John Friends fought again from a set and a break down in opposition to America’s Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram to win Olympic gold for Australia within the males’s doubles in Paris.

Within the first-to-10 match tie-break, they wrapped up a 6-7 (6-8) 7-6 (7-1) 10-8 victory with their fourth match level.

Friends, a former doubles accomplice of Nice Britain’s Jamie Murray, provides a gold medal to the bronze he claimed within the combined doubles alongside Ash Barty in Tokyo.

Ram, 40, missed out on his first Olympic gold, having gained 4 Grand Slam doubles titles alongside Briton Joe Salisbury.

Victory for Australia got here within the first of 4 medal matches at Roland Garros on Saturday.

China’s Zheng Qinwen will tackle Donna Vekic of Croatia for gold within the girls’s singles, whereas the bronze medal winners within the males’s singles and males’s doubles will even be selected the Paris clay.
