NEW YORK—Daniil Medvedev’s meltdown on Monday night time on the US Open has prompted concern from Boris Becker.
Former No. 1 Becker stated seeing Medvedev collapse in his five-set loss to Benjamin Bonzi makes him imagine the previous US Open champion wants counseling.
“We name this “public meltdown “ … I feel he wants skilled assist ?!?” Becker posted on X alongside video of Medvedev smashing his racquets.

ESPN analyst Brad Gilbert, who beforehand coached Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick and Coco Gauff, concurred with Becker. Gilbert replied: “Sadly his mind is getting the higher of him after shedding these shut matches the lat few months, I agree, he undoubtedly wants some assist.”
