BJ McLeod initially missed the Daytona 500 after ending nineteenth in his duel race on Thursday night. The Wauchula, Florida, native was set to go house after 18th-place finisher Anthony Alfredo beat him and JJ Yeley to take the ultimate spot on the grid.
However Alfredo’s end was disallowed by NASCAR after it was present in post-race inspection that two hoses weren’t correctly put in. After McLeod’s No. 78 Chevrolet handed post-race inspection, he was formally within the discipline for the 68th Daytona 500 (2:30 p.m. ET Sunday, Fox, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
