The hobbled Braves added one other reinforcement to their rotation on Monday, agreeing to a commerce with the Yankees for veteran righty Carlos Carrasco in trade for a participant to be named or money.
Carrasco was designated for task by the Yankees and subsequently optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in early June. The 38-year-old posted a 5.91 ERA in eight outings (six begins) with New York this 12 months and has a 3.27 ERA in 11 video games (10 begins) with the RailRiders.
All 5 starters from the Braves’ Opening Day rotation are on the IL, as Grant Holmes (proper elbow irritation) not too long ago joined Chris Sale (fractured left ribcage), Reynaldo López (proper shoulder irritation), Spencer Schwellenbach (fractured proper elbow) and AJ Smith-Shawver (strained proper elbow) on the shelf.
