Britain's 2025 Davis Cup bid to start in Japan

Nice Britain have been handed a visit to Japan within the first spherical of qualifying for the 2025 Davis Cup – which is able to see Italy host the eight-nation finals.

Britain, seeded eleventh, will play Japan within the males’s group occasion in late January/early February, every week after the Australian Open finishes.

In the event that they win, Leon Smith’s group will transfer into the second spherical of qualifying – which may also be a house or away tie following one other revamp for the 124-year-old event – in September.

The opponents for Britain or Japan can be both fourth seeds Germany, who reached the semi-finals this yr, or Israel.

Britain are in the end aiming to earn a spot at November’s eight-team finals, which the Worldwide Tennis Federation has determined to maneuver to Italy.

Town of Bologna will host the 2025 version, changing Spanish metropolis Malaga which hosted this yr’s occasion in November.
