Can we just get the awkwardness out of the way first? + SO excited about my new strength program.

I was looking through pictures from my morning and wondering what in the world was going on with my forehead.

I DIDN’T RUB IN MY MAKEUP. I just dabbed it all over my forehead and forgot to rub it in. You guys. What is my deal?

Thankfully, we were in the mountains without a soul to see my blotches of makeup on my face.

Running on some snow felt exciting.

The hills just about killed me, though. It’s crazy how fast trail lungs/legs leave me if I’m not consistent with them.

My friend, Jenisy, is a fitness expert. She has taught hundreds of women in fitness classes and is also a personal trainer. I asked for her advice on my strength routine, and she recommended focusing on a progressive overload program rather than just picking random classes. She told me to try out the CGX app and follow one of the programs. I immediately downloaded (I think it’s like $12 a month, but you get a free 14-day trial) and did workout #1 when I got home. I LOVE/THRIVE being on a training plan for running, and this feels like one for lifting. I couldn’t be more excited to make some progress.

One of the best parts is that you can listen to something else on your phone while you are using your phone for the workout. I listened to an audiobook, which, as you know, is one of my favorite things to do. She shows you what you are going to do, there is no talking, but there is a beep sound for the start and end of each move.

It also includes instructions and tips for you along the way on the screen. I am not one to want to hear all of the talking during a workout, so to know what the plan is while listening to what I want to listen to and still hearing the beeps to start/end… I’m in love. I have a feeling this is something I’m going to really stick to.

My favorite grocery shopping buddy. I will not be ready for him to be in school full-time in August.

At Sprouts, the cashier asked me if I was a Utah native. She is from California and told me she can always tell who grew up here because they are crazy enough to wear shorts in January!

The dogs are so good at getting us outside more often.

IMG 5639IMG 5639

I roasted my very first beets. It’s a labor of love but absolutely delicious.

I made this salad (and added some grilled cheese and Andrew rated it a 9.8/10). I agree, it was amazing!

Oh, and another fun new thing I am trying! I’ve read amazing things about it for hyperpigmentation, fine lines, sun spots, etc., so I’ve been using it every night for a few weeks now… My friends who use it have experienced peeling, but I haven’t. I’ll let you know what I think of it after a few months and if it works for me.
