Canada’s Auger-Aliassime exits Rotterdam match with toe injury


Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime retired from his first-round match towards Italian qualifier Andrea Vavassori on the ABN Amro Open on Wednesday as a result of a toe damage.

Auger-Aliassime, from Montreal, stopped taking part in after dropping a 6-4 choice within the second set. He had taken the opener 7-6 (3).



In a social media submit, Auger-Aliassime stated he skilled a toe drawback at observe Tuesday and it bothered him once more in the course of the match.  

“I’ll have it taken care of this week,” he stated. “I’m unhappy to depart a match that I really like early, however I hope to be recent and able to go for Doha developing.” 

The Qatar ExxonMobil Open begins Feb. 17.

The Twenty third-ranked Auger-Aliassime was coming off a title final week in Montpellier, France. It was his seventh profession ATP Tour title and second this season.
