The Snowboard Cross athlete has picked up the highest spot on the newest World Cup competitors. NEW
Bankes received gold on the Sierra Nevada SBX in Spain on Saturday afternoon.
It’s her second consecutive World Cup victory after her win in Gudauri on 4th February.
Bankes progressed to the finals in Spain with victory in each the Quarter Closing and Semi Closing phases.
She then noticed off Czechia’s Eva Adamczykova, who took silver, and two French snowboarders, Chloe Trespeuch (bronze) and Manon Petit Lenoir (fourth place).
Saturday’s victory means Bankes now has a complete of 17 solo SBX World Cup wins.
She’ll compete once more in one other World Cup on the similar location on Sunday.
