Durant and James star as USA thrash Serbia in Olympics opener


The USA have began their Olympic basketball title defence with a dominant victory over Serbia.

Regardless of the perfect efforts of Denver Nuggets MVP centre Nikola Jokic, Serbia fell to a 22-point defeat on the Pierre Mauroy Stadium.

There was no stopping Crew USA, which options 12 NBA All-Stars, 4 NBA MVPs and 6 NBA champions, who mixed have 11 Olympic appearances and personal 10 gold medals.

LeBron James, a two-time gold medallist, registered 21 factors, 9 assists and 7 rebounds, whereas Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant led the group with 23 factors.

Jrue Vacation scored 15 factors, Devin Booker 12 with Stephen Curry and Anthony Edwards getting 11 respectively.

The USA, who’re going for a fifth straight gold medal, are actually joint high of Group C with South Sudan on two factors.
