Easter Skiing Hit by High Winds & Lift Closures

thirtieth March 2024

Storm pressure winds in elements of the Alps have brought on some issues. PlanetSKI opted to go touring to make some Easter turns. NEW

There have been reported gusts of as much as 100kms per hour in locations with many resorts closing lifts at altitude.

Verbier in Switzerland shut a lot of its ski space and stopped promoting raise passes on Saturday.

It was an identical image throughout different resorts.

In St Anton within the Tirol in Austria the higher lifts had been closed.

PlanetSKI reporter, Simon Miller, is within the resort making ready for some ski touring subsequent week that he will likely be writing about for PlanetSKI.

“The higher lifts have been closed right now so there have been some busy pistes decrease down,” Simon mentioned on Saturday.

“There was good snowboarding till about 10am then it rapidly turned to spring snow proper as much as 2,000m.”
