Second seed Ekaterina Makarova recovered from a sluggish begin to beat Antonia Schmidt of Germany 7-6(3), 6-3 within the semifinals of the $30,000 ITF ladies’s tennis event on the Tennis Venture, Baliyawas, on Saturday.
