Fernandez continues impressive grass-court season with first-round Wimbledon win


LONDON, England — Canada’s Leylah Fernandez continued her spectacular grass-court season Tuesday with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Italy’s Lucia Bronzetti in first-round motion at Wimbledon.

Fernandez, seeded thirtieth within the girls’s singles draw on the All England Membership, had three breaks within the match, together with a key win to go up 4-2 within the second set.
