Floyd Schofield Amused by Shakur Stevenson’s Dismissal of Tevin Farmer KO: “Zepeda is Coming!”

Floyd Schofield reacted with amusement at Shakur Stevenson diminishing his first-round knockout of Tevin Farmer final Saturday evening.

Shakur has disregarded Schofield’s knockout, saying on X, “Any fighter harmful within the first spherical, particularly these lil children.” In different phrases, it wasn’t expertise and coaching by Schofield (19-0, 13 KOs) that bought him the victory. It was simply easy aggression from a youthful fighter.

When Schofield was informed of WBC light-weight champion Shakur’s remark, he stated he wanted to give attention to his battle towards William Zepeda on July twelfth, as a result of he’s “coming.”

Zepeda (33-0, 27 KOs) is seen as an actual menace towards Stevenson (23-0, 11 KOs), who has been matched rigorously by his promoters since his poor efficiency towards the large puncher Edwin De Los Santos in 2023. Shakur has been matched towards completely weak opposition since being booed out of the ring within the De Los Santos battle.

Farmer KO: Irresponsible or Talent?

“He may need to take a few of that recommendation into the [William] Zepeda battle. He’s bought one thing else to fret about. Zepeda is coming. So, he higher be on his A-game,” stated Schofield to the media throughout final Saturday evening’s post-fight press convention, reacting to being informed that Shakur Stevenson posted on X, diminishing his win over Tevin Farmer.

Stevenson had additional devalued Schofield’s win by including, “Don’t get hyped too off Tev being irresponsible.”

What Shakur is saying right here is that Schofield’s knockout was a results of Farmer being “irresponsible” reasonably than being a product of Floyd’s expertise and expertise. He’s saying it was a mistake on Farmer’s half, reasonably than the coaching and technique employed by Schofield. He’s not a sufficiently big particular person to provide him credit score for his win. Shakur has to border it as an error on Farmer’s half.

“In fact, I’d love the winner of that battle. However like I stated, each of them have a tough evening towards one another,” stated Schofield about combating the winner of the Shakur vs. Zepeda battle. “Me and Shakur have gotten unfinished enterprise. That’s ultimately going to occur, and I’ll be capable of show what I used to be going to do in February.”

Schofield can neglect about getting a battle towards Shakur if he’s victorious towards Zepeda. He needs the Gervonta Davis battle. Even when he doesn’t get it, he’s not going to look in Schofield’s path. What little probability he had of combating Stevenson disappeared after his efficiency towards Farmer. The very last thing Stevenson needs is to face a contender with one-punch energy.
