Heavyweight Contender Stephan Shaw: A “Big Shot” Again After Nasty KO Over Raphael Akpejiori? – Boxing Results

Oftentimes within the heavyweight division, it takes only one explosive KO, or maybe a pleasant run of strong wins, and a man is true again, closing in on one thing large. This brings us to Stephan “Huge Shot” Shaw. This previous weekend, Shaw of Saint Louis took out Nigerian puncher Raphael Akpejiori in just a little over 30 seconds, Shaw’s proper hand and his left hook serving to put Akpejiori out chilly quickly after the bell had sounded on the Maryland Reside On line casino in Hanover.

Now 21-2(16), 32-year-old Shaw is perhaps again in line to stay as much as his ring nickname. Okay, Akpejiori isn’t an elite heavyweight, however he was on a roll previous to working into Shaw, having received three fights after having been stopped by Arslanbek Makhmudov in July of 2023. For what it’s price, Shaw stopped Akpejiori sooner than the Russian big did.

Shaw, overwhelmed solely by Efe Ajagba and Joseph Goodall (who managed to cease Shaw), has now received his final three on the spin. And Shaw is an effective fighter, a very good puncher. The age of 32 remains to be younger for a heavyweight as of late, and Shaw may but show to be a significant participant within the division. Actually, after showcasing explosive punching energy on Saturday the way in which he did, followers wish to see the place Shaw goes from right here.

A professional since December of 2013, Shaw loved a very good newbie profession, throughout which he went 51-9. As a professional, Shaw holds good wins over Joey Dawejko (whom he stopped), Rydell Booker, and now Akpejiori. Once more, let’s see who Shaw is matched up with in his subsequent struggle. Hopefully, Shaw will stay busy, with him getting one other two, possibly three fights in earlier than the tip of the 12 months.

Followers love the sort of highlight-reel KO that Shaw delivered on Saturday. Now, can “Huge Shot” go on and ship some extra? One struggle I’d prefer to see is one between Shaw and Jared Anderson. Who wins if that struggle occurs?
