With a heavy coronary heart, we announce the passing of Tiania Tutt Adams, a long-time Alpine Ski coach and former US Ski Staff member. She left us on July 26, 2024, at her household residence on Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado Springs. Born in Michigan and raised in Colorado and Vermont, Tiania was a real snowboarding phenom from her earliest days at Ski Broadmoor, and her ardour for the game by no means waned.
Tiania’s journey in snowboarding was nothing wanting extraordinary. After she graduated from Burke Mountain Academy in Vermont, the US Ski Staff named her to the staff in 1978. She skied competitively at CU Boulder earlier than becoming a member of the Girls’s Professional Tour. Upon retiring from competitors, Tiania devoted over 40 years to teaching, influencing numerous younger racers from Colorado to Vermont. Her teaching profession started in Summit County, Colorado, and flourished after her marriage to fellow ski coach Charlie Adams. Collectively, they co-founded the Mt. Mansfield Ski Academy in Stowe, Vermont, and created 45 North Camps for creating athletes.
After returning to Colorado to be nearer to household and assist her youngsters’s snowboarding careers, Tiania continued to encourage younger skiers together with her experience, teaching for Staff Summit, Summit Excessive College, Staff Monarch, Ski Membership Vail, and in the end the Telluride Ski and Snowboard Membership. All through her profession, Tiania made vital contributions to Alpine ski racing in any respect ranges and ages. She was the coach each athlete and mum or dad desires of—gifted, nurturing, insightful and enjoyable. Tiania’s distinctive kindness touched everybody she met.

Tiania’s mom, Kay Servatius, and father, William Thayer Tutt, preceded her in dying. She is survived by her husband, Charlie; her youngsters, Colby and Duncan Adams; her grandchildren, Spring and Olen; her siblings, Michael Tutt, Chelle Tutt Mason, and Elizabeth Zimmerman; and quite a few nieces, nephews and cousins.
