India wins two silver and two bronze in ITF Masters World Championship

The All India Tennis Affiliation (AITA) has congratulated the Indian gamers for successful two silver and two bronze medals within the current ITF Masters World Championships in Manavgat (Turkey).



The Sood twins, Chandril and Lakshit, had been the heroes as they gained the doubles silver aside from the staff silver within the over-30 part.

Chandril and Lakshit misplaced to high seeds Manuel Martinez and Roger Ordeig of Spain 3-6, 1-6 within the doubles closing after having overwhelmed Russian, German and Austrian groups in straight units within the earlier three rounds.

The Indian over-30 staff misplaced the ultimate 0-3 to Britain, after having overwhelmed Argentina (2-1), and Turkemnistan (2-0) within the knock-out part, aside from USA (2-1) and South Africa (2-0) within the league stage.

Aside from Chandril and Lakshit who handled the majority of competitors, the Indian males’s staff had Shikhar Gaddh and Govind Maurya.

Jitin Bishnoi and Akshitha Basavaraju misplaced to the eventual champions Rita Freitas and Jose-Ricardo Nunes of Portugal within the blended doubles semfiinals after beating the German pair of Eva Jaekel and Dennis Jaekel 7-5, 4-6, [10-8] within the quarterfinals.

Mishal Javia and Kartikeya Verma misplaced to high seeds Kengo Iwasaka of Japan and Yuri Mijic of Australia within the over-35 doubles semifinals after having downed Chileans Jaime Prohens and Rodrigo Santana 4-6, 7-6(5), [10-7] within the quarterfinals.

Anil Dhupar, secretary-general, AITA, congratulated the gamers for his or her “outstanding talent, dedication and sportsmanship in opposition to high worldwide opponents”.



The outcomes: Males: Over-30 doubles, closing: Samuel Martinez & Roger Ordeig (Esp) bt Chandril Sood & Lakshit Sood 6-3, 6-1.

Over-35 doubles, semifinals: Kengo Iwasaka (Jpn) & Yuri Mijic (Aus) bt Mishal Javia & Kartikeya Verma 6-2, 6-2.

Over-35 blended doubles, semifinals: Rita Freitas & Jose-Ricardo Nunes (Por) bt Akshitha Basavaraju & Jitin Bishnoi 6-1, 6-1.
