Issac Cruz makes his feelings clear on Gervonta Davis rematch after ‘Tank’ said he wants it next

Isaac Cruz was the primary man to go the total 12-round distance with Gervonta Davis.

The pair met again in December 2021, with Cruz pushing ‘Tank’ all the best way all through the competition, because the judges scored it 115-113, 115-113 and 116-112 in favour of Davis as he retained his WBA light-weight title.

Davis went from power to power after that struggle, claiming 4 straight wins over the likes of Ryan Garcia and Rolly Romero, however the final 12 months have been troublesome for the American.

He was held to a controversial majority resolution draw with Lamont Roach in March, after which was set to have an exhibition with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in November, just for it to be cancelled after ‘Tank’ was named in a civil lawsuit concerning home allegations.

As for Cruz, he gained the WBA super-lightweight title after his struggle with Davis, and now holds the WBC interim strap at 140lbs, preventing to his personal majority resolution draw with Roach earlier this month.

Talking within the aftermath of that struggle, Davis made it clear that he could be all for a rematch with Cruz, and now the Mexican has responded.

When requested by ESPN Knockout who his high three targets could be for his subsequent struggle, Cruz stated that ‘Tank’ is on the high of the listing.

“First could be Gervonta Davis, then Subriel Matias, and why not Ryan Garcia. I believe these three names could be implausible for my first struggle of 2026.”

Matias is ready to defend his WBC super-lightweight title in opposition to Dalton Smith subsequent month, whereas Garcia is predicted to face WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios in February, so with Davis the one of the three to not have a struggle scheduled, it might pave the best way for it to occur.
