Jackie Redmond warns fans of social media scammers

One huge factor: WWE interviewer Jackie Redmond alerts followers to impersonators in search of cash

Jackie Redmond, a well-liked WWE backstage interviewer, took to X (previously Twitter) to warn followers about scammers posing as her and requesting cash or present playing cards.

The small print:

• A fan shared screenshots of a dialog with somebody pretending to be Redmond, asking them to buy a Razer Gold or Steam card.

• Redmond responded rapidly, stating she would “NEVER EVER ask you for cash or to go buy telephones present playing cards and so forth.”

• She suggested that if such messages come from her verified account, it means she’s been hacked.

Why it issues:

The incident highlights the rising drawback of social media scams focusing on wrestling followers, exploiting their admiration for WWE personalities.

By the numbers:

• Redmond joined WWE in 2022 after a profitable profession as an NHL reporter.• WWE has over 1 billion social media followers throughout its numerous accounts.

The underside line:

Followers want to stay vigilant towards on-line scams, even once they seem to come back from verified accounts of their favourite wrestling personalities.
