Malek Jaziri and David Marrero’s pay for play scheme has earned each males suspensions.
The Worldwide Tennis Integrity Company introduced at present that Marrero and Jaziri are each suspended for violating Tennis Anti-Corruption Program wildcard guidelines.
Former doubles world No. 5 Marrero admitted to paying and providing to pay for wildcards “for themselves and/or their doubles associate on 4 events throughout 2022 and 2023,” the ITIA introduced.
Jaziri, a former singles No. 42 who owns profession wins over Marin Cilic, Grigor Dimitrov and Karen Khachanov and made historical past because the lowest-ranked Dubai semifinals in 2019, has been suspended for 9 months and fined $5,000 (of which $2,500 is suspended), after admitting to involvement in a single breach of the TACP’s wildcard guidelines with Marrero.
The 41-year-old Jaziri, the highest-ranked Tunisian man in historical past and at the moment captain of Tunisia’s Davis Cup squad, started serving his suspension on October twenty eighth. It’s going to finish on July 27, 2026.
The 45-year-old Marrero’s suspension began on October twenty first and can finish on Could twentieth, 2028.
Throughout their suspensions, Marrero and Jaziri are banned from “taking part in in, teaching at, or attending any tennis occasion authorised or sanctioned by the members of the ITIA (ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon and USTA) or any nationwide affiliation,” the ITIA introduced.
