Maaya storms into the semifinals of Mumbai Open


India’s Maaya Rajeshwaran powered into the singles semifinal of the Mumbai Open 125 tennis event on Friday.

India’s 15-year-old Maaya Rajeshwaran roared into her first WTA semifinal, knocking out Japan’s Mei Yamaguchi 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 within the L&T Mumbai Open 125 on the Cricket Membership of India right here on Friday.



Yamaguchi began aggressively, mixing robust forehands with intelligent slices and raced to a 2-0 lead. She continued to use strain with highly effective baseline winners to stretch the result in 3-1. Maaya fought again with an ace and a stupendous drop shot to stage the rating.
