After one other experience on the battle bus for Mikal Bridges on Friday afternoon — which included the guard being benched for many of the fourth quarter of a nip-and-tuck Knicks victory — he pledged, “I’ll be higher” as teammates and coach forcefully went to bat for the embattled guard.
“I’m not nervous about [Bridges],” Josh Hart mentioned. “I feel the media and individuals are killing him. He’s in a brand new scenario. He’s in a scenario the place he’s performed 19 video games in a special position that he’s performed the final 4 years. So it’s our job to get him going. And all the opposite BS about what we gave up [the five first-round picks to the Nets], it means nothing.
“If we win, if we get a championship, ain’t no one give a rattling about what number of picks we gave up. We might’ve given up 15 picks, it don’t matter. On the finish of the day, we’re attempting to win a championship. He’s going to be a key piece of that.”
