13 years into the Syrian conflict, we honor the resilience of courageous refugees like Mohammed Marei, who needed to depart their residence nation behind.
At 53 years outdated, Marei isn’t only a swimmer and a triathlete, he’s additionally a swim teacher, coaching Syrians and Egyptians in Cairo. He embraced sports activities at a time of hardship, and in doing so reminded us of the boundless potential inside us all.
We hope Marei can, at some point, obtain his dream of competing on the worldwide stage.
