The alpine tunnel linking France and Italy wants pressing repairs, however is scheduled to be open for the beginning of the ski season. NEW
The tunnel, in-built 1965, is seven miles lengthy and is a significant route between north and south Europe because it hyperlinks France and Italy.
The skis areas of Chamomix in France and Courmayeur in Italy sit at both finish.

There are two different highway routes whereas the tunnel is shut:
The Grand Saint Bernard tunnel to the north-east hyperlinks Switzerland with Italy and provides 50 miles to the journey.
