Montreal’s IGA Stadium to host Davis Cup qualifier between Canada and Hungary


The primary-round Davis Cup qualifier between Canada and Hungary shall be performed at Montreal’s IGA Stadium, Tennis Canada stated Monday.

The winner of the Feb. 1-2 best-of-five tie on the indoor hardcourt will advance to the second spherical of qualifiers in September. The shedding workforce shall be relegated to the World Group 1 stage. 



“There isn’t any higher feeling than enjoying in Canada, representing your nation, and having all the crowd behind you,” workforce captain Frank Dancevic stated in a press release. “We shall be relying on the help of the followers in Montreal as we gear up for what we count on to be a hard-fought battle in opposition to a robust Hungarian workforce.”

Canada gained the Davis Cup for the primary time in 2022 and has been eradicated within the quarterfinals — now referred to as the Last 8 — in every of the final two years.
