Mountain Review: China Peak

Getting There

China Peak is situated lower than two hours from the Central Valley metropolis of Fresno. The resort is technically simply southwest of Mammoth Mountain, however as a result of impassable Southern Sierra Nevadas, the drive between these two resorts is over six hours. Different massive California cities, equivalent to Bakersfield and San Jose, are a bit additional, at three and 4 hour drives respectively, with the San Francisco Worldwide Airport sitting about four-and-a-half hours away.

China Peak’s entry street is notably lengthy, with the twisty, mountainous sections taking on an hour to drive even on good days with no climate points. Driving up with chains or 4WD/AWD is usually required through the winter months.

Parking

Parking at China Peak is fairly near the bottom, with paid parking near the Canyon carry and free parking near the Summit carry. Just lately, the Summit chair has had some mechanical points, which has made for an extended stroll to get on the slopes from the free parking space; that being mentioned, a carry alternative is supposedly sooner or later.
