Nagal bows out of Australian Open Asia-Pacific wild card play-off tournament


India’s prime singles participant Sumit Nagal bowed out of the Australian Open Asia-Pacific wild card play-off event after shedding to Yunchaokete Bu of China in straight units within the quarterfinals right here on Thursday.

Nagal, seeded sixth within the event, misplaced 2-6 2-6 to the top-seeded Chinese language opponent.



The Chengdu occasion, which runs from November 24–29 on the Sichuan Worldwide Tennis Centre, provides the boys’s and girls’s singles winners wild card entry into the primary draw of the 2026 Australian Open.

The Indian’s path had been clouded earlier by visa uncertainty. His preliminary utility to enter China was rejected, prompting Nagal to publicly enchantment to Chinese language officers.
