NASCAR made the right choice by penalizing Sammy Smith after Martinsville debacle

NASCAR heeded the calls of followers and drivers on Tuesday afternoon by penalizing Xfinity Collection driver Sammy Smith following the chaotic conclusion of Saturday’s Xfinity Collection race at Martinsville Speedway.

On the ultimate lap of Saturday’s race, Smith despatched his No. 8 Chevrolet deep into flip 3, making contact with race chief Taylor Grey and taking each himself and Grey out of competition.

With Smith clearly not attempting to make the nook, followers and trade personalities referred to as for Smith to be penalized for his actions. NASCAR obliged.
