‘No one can take this away from me’: Hitchins reacts to becoming world champion with win over Paro

With Richardson Hitchins scoring a call win over Liam Paro over the weekend to take the IBF world title, he talks to iFL TV instantly after the bout to share his ideas on the second and what he’s seeking to do subsequent. Take a look at some excerpts of what he needed to say beneath.

Hitchins on his win over Paro

“I knew in boxing they are saying you’re solely nearly as good as your final efficiency. All people’s most likely again on my bandwagon, everyone’s most likely portray a brand new man that they are saying will beat me. It’s what it’s, it comes with the game. I’m simply comfortable to be a man who fulfilled his dream within the sport of boxing, nobody can take this away from me. Liam Paro is a good champion, robust champion, a difficult champion and a sport champion, so it’s not like I simply beat any man tonight.

“He was, I feel, the second or third world champion on my record that I beat in my profession in boxing, and I’m simply comfortable. He used his expertise, he used his distance, his bouncing, his feinting — so many feints…he made me assume, he made me up my mind a bit bit. It was a very good little chess sport however he couldn’t play that sport with me. I really feel like I used to be simply the smarter man however that sport stored him from simply getting utterly dominated.”

On what it was like when the choice was learn

“It simply felt surreal, man. To be a world champion, it seems like — I don’t know. I simply need this present day to final ceaselessly, you understand what I’m saying? It simply feels nice to be a world champion, to attain my dream. I’m misplaced for phrases. I’m really grateful and all glory to God, to be trustworthy. I come from nothing, I come from Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York. Now I’m constructing an empire for myself, making a reputation for myself and my household and that’s all I ever needed. I did all this shit with a pair of gloves, man.”

On wanting a combat with Teofimo Lopez

“I really feel like Teo is one the largest names within the division and he’s from New York. I feel that will likely be an enormous, large combat. That might be a really trash speaking, simply aggressive combat. His dad will likely be speaking shit, I’ll be speaking shit. It’ll be an excellent combat.”
