Copper Mountain Resort‘s current Grasp Growth Plan, submitted to the White River Nationwide Forest, is a doozy. Large terrain upgrades, chairlift replacements, utility enhancements, and what may turn into North America’s new highest chairlift are all included, along with a number of different highlights.
Notably, Copper Mountain goals so as to add a 500 acre terrain growth on Jacque Peak and Rose Mountain in a drainage referred to as Tucker Gulch. The growth would consist largely of superior and expert-level terrain, together with open bowls, steep couloirs, and a rolling valley ground, and a blue traverse would join Copper Bowl and the brand new Jacque Peak.
With the deliberate Jacque East chairlift, the terrain on Jacque Peak would turn into the very best lift-served ski and snowboard terrain in North America, reaching above 13,000 ft. Distant avalanche management methods, everlasting snowfences, a ski patrol outpost, and everlasting boundary markers would possible be obligatory for the brand new space.
Along with the brand new terrain, Copper Mountain’s plans embrace a number of new and upgraded chairlifts. Eight current lifts can be upgraded; Alpine, Excelerator, Timberline, Lumberjack, Rendezvous, Tremendous Bee, Blackjack, and Mountain Chief (Alpine, Excelerator, Lumberjack, and Rendezvous can be prolonged or realigned).
Three new removable lifts can be constructed on the mountain, together with Sail Away, Union Meadows, and Jacque East, along with two new fastened grips: Terrain Park Raise and Thunderbird. Plus, a brand new SuperPipe floor carry would make halfpipe coaching and competitors simpler.
The above carry and terrain upgrades solely scratch the floor of what’s talked about within the Grasp Growth Plan, which could be learn in full right here. None of those plans have been formally introduced by the resort exterior of the Grasp Growth Plan.
