Northwestern, Wisconsin Split Big Ten Swimming Showdown


In a Massive Ten twin, the Wisconsin ladies swam previous Northwestern in an in depth meet, 154-146.

In the meantime, the Northwestern gained the lads’s meet over Wisconsin 161-133.



Wisconsin’s Maggie Wanezek was a triple winner for the Badgers. She gained the 100 backstroke in 51.04, 200 again in 1:51.80 and 100 free in 48.67.

Wisconsin went 1-2 within the 100 breaststroke with Brooke Corrigan (1:00.17) and Hazal Ozkan (1:00.57). The duo went 1-2 in reverse order within the 200 breaststroke with Ozkan successful in 2:10.76, adopted by Corrigan (2:11.29).

Wisconsin’s Hailey Tierney and Northwestern’s Lindsay Ervin tied to win the 50 freestyle in 22.42. Maddie Waggoner gained the 1650 free in 16:05.82 an 400 IM in 4:14.61. Blair Stoneburg gained the five hundred freestyle in 4:43.82, forward of Northwestern’s Zoe Nordmann (4:47.22).

Wisconsin gained the 400 medley relay in 3:30.75.

Northwestern’s Sydney Smith gained the 200 free in 1:45.25, simply forward of Wanezek (1:45.53). Hana Shimizu-Bowers gained the 200 fly (1:58.89). Ekaterina Nikonova gained he 100 fly in 53.28, forward of Tierney (53.79).

Ervin, Nikonova, Audrey Yu and Amy Pan gained the 200 free relay in 1:28.06.

Northwestern’s Chloe Sharpe gained 1-meter with a rating of 312.30 and the 3-meter occasion with a 304.05 rating.



Within the males’s meet, Northwestern’s Stuart Seymour, Joshua Staples, Connor Schuster and Oliver Kos gained the 400 medley relay in 3:05.27.

Seymour gained the 100 backstroke in 45.24. Staples gained the 100 breast in 52.18. Schuster gained the 50 free in 19.66 and 100 butterfly in 46.43.

Northwestern’s Cade Duncan gained the 100 free in 42.31, going 1-2 with Seymour (42.38).

Schuster, Seymour, Duncan and Kos gained the 200 free relay in 1:16.98.

Northwestern’s Adam Cohen gained 3-meter diving with 409.75, going 1-2 with Ryan Augustine, who additionally topped 400 with a 405.40. Augustine gained 1-meter with a 382.25 rating.

Wisconsin’s Yoav Romano gained the 1650 free in 15:04.85 and the five hundred free in 4:18.82. Luukas Vainio gained the 200 free in 1:33.45. Dominik Mark Torok gained the 200 fly in 1:43.76, 400 IM (3:44.94) and 200 breast in 1:56.25. Adam Graham gained the 200 again in 1:43.71.
