An Oakland firefighter-paramedic died early Thursday throughout a predawn swim off the coast of Pacific Seaside.
The person received separated from mates within the ocean close to Crystal Pier about 2 a.m., in response to the San Diego Fireplace-Rescue Division.
A number of hours later, as lifeguards had been looking out the surf and swells with assist from personnel aboard a Coast Guard helicopter, the lacking man’s physique washed ashore on the north aspect of the pier, SDFRD Lt. Rick Romero advised OnSceneTV.
The person — later recognized by the Oakland Fireplace Division as 25-year-old Caeden Laffan — was pronounced useless on the scene.
