Olympic Medalist, NCAA Champion Bella Sims Transfers to Michigan
After two years swimming for the College of Florida, Olympian Bella Sims has dedicated to switch to the College of Michigan.
The Wolverines introduced her dedication on social media.
“Excited to welcome US Olympian and World Champion (Bella Sims) to Ann Arbor!”
Bella Sims was an Olympic silver medalist in Tokyo as a part of the 800 free relay. The has received three world championship medals on relays for the U.S. as nicely.
Sims can have two remaining years of eligibility at Michigan.
The Wolverines haven’t had a star of this magnitude previously 4 years since NCAA champion Maggie Mac Neil transferred to LSU.
Michigan has been rebuilding with stable items since and had a powerful NCAA meet, ending ninth. Add Sims to the combination and the Wolverines will proceed to pattern upward beneath coach Matt Bowe.
As a freshman at Florida, Sims was the NCAA champion in each the 200 freestyle (1:40.90) and 500 free (4:32.47) in 2024 and took third within the 200 again (1:48.47).
As a sophomore, Bella Sims centered on backstroke and completed second within the 100 again (49.12) and 200 again (1:47.11) at NCAAs in March.
Now, she is going to be a part of a Michigan workforce on the rise to return to a prime 5 program within the nation.
