Palestinian-American Swimmer Valerie Tarazi On Gaza: ‘I Swim To Compete, They Swim To Survive’ | Middle East Eye


“Whereas I put together to swim in Paris, I’m racing to compete. I watch the information and I see folks swimming to obtain packages from the ocean.”

Valerie Tarazi, an American-Palestinian swimmer set to compete within the Paris Olympics, highlighted the plight of Palestinians in Gaza at a send-off ceremony for the Palestinian Olympic delegation within the occupied West Financial institution metropolis of Ramallah on Sunday.

The State of Palestine will likely be represented by eight athletes on the Paris Olympics and two on the Paralympics.
