Rob Van Dam isn’t an enormous fan of celebrities getting matches at huge wrestling occasions.
On the most recent episode of the 1 Of A Variety Podcast, the WWE Corridor of Famer spoke in regards to the upcoming celeb tag crew match at SummerSlam that includes Jelly Roll. Van Dam made it clear why he finds a majority of these matches offensive and insulting.
“It’s important to be an athlete to have the ability to do it,” Rob Van Dam mentioned. “And so, like for me, it’s all the time offensive, as a result of I take the angle that in an effort to have a star take a spot on a wrestling card, everybody else has to work round them to make it seem like simply anyone might do it. And I don’t like that, as a result of not all people might do it…
“It’s all the time insulting, although, for me, like when folks really feel prefer it’s, prefer it’s straightforward, like we’re simply enjoying, or like simply anyone can do it… I all the time will really feel defensive about the truth that my profession took an unbelievable quantity of physicality, an incredible quantity of sturdiness to have the ability to take, you already know, a sh*tload of punishment on a nightly foundation, moreover having the expertise to even choose up the timing and have cool strikes and any of that. And so I really feel like a whole lot of that simply will get thrown out the window in an effort to f*cking make this work.” [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]
