Rafael Nadal is about to formally head into retirement after the Davis Cup, and with the chance that we’ll see him play his remaining match on Tuesday, his good friend and rival Roger Federer penned a lovely message to Rafa on social media.
“As you get able to graduate from tennis, I’ve obtained a number of issues to share earlier than I perhaps get emotional,” Federer began.
He went on to speak about how Nadal made him work tougher on his sport, how he thought he was on high of the world in 2004 … after which Nadal and “these biceps” confirmed up.
“We have been each in the beginning of our journey and it’s one we ended up taking collectively,” he wrote. “Twenty years later, Rafa, I’ve to say: What an unbelievable run you’ve had. Together with 14 French Opens—historic! You made Spain proud… you made the entire tennis world proud.”
