Elena Rybakina mentioned on Wednesday (February 12, 2025) that she was “upset” with the WTA Tour’s resolution to ban her former coach Stefano Vukov following the governing physique’s investigation into a possible breach of its code of conduct.
“I am simply upset with the scenario, and the way the method went. I am not going to remark a lot on that anymore,” Rybakina informed reporters after her victory over Rebecca Sramkova on the Qatar Open.
On Tuesday (February 11), the WTA mentioned it had accomplished its investigation on Vukov and that his suspension “stays in place.” It didn’t specify how for much longer he would stay banned. The Croatian coach, who had been below a provisional suspension, has denied wrongdoing.
Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, mentioned final month on the Australian Open that Vukov “ by no means mistreated me ” of their years working collectively and that she disagreed with the provisional suspension.
