Shanker Heisnam makes final


Third seed Shanker Heisnam beat second seed Praneel Sharma 7-6(2), 7-6(6) within the semifinals of the ITF junior tennis event on the Shanti Academy on Friday.

Within the closing, Shanker will play the highest seed Sehaj Singh Pawar who beat Gandharv Kothapalli in three units.

Praneel gained the doubles title in partnershiip with Yashwin Dahiya.

Within the ladies’ part, second seed Diya Ramesh overcame a gradual begin to beat Diya Chaudhary in three units. She is going to play Jaya Kapoor within the closing. Diya Ramesh gained the doubles title with Sohini Mohanty

The outcomes: Below-18 boys (semifinals): Sehaj Singh Pawar bt Gandharv Kothapalli 6-7(3), 6-4, 6-1; Shanker Heisnam bt Praneel Sharma 7-6(2), 7-6(6).

Doubles (closing): Yashwin Dahiya & Praneel Sharma bt Prakaash Sarran & Channamallikarjuna Yale 6-4, 6-3.

Below-18 ladies (semifinals): Jaya Kapoor bt Anandita Upadhyay 7-5, 7-6(1); Diya Ramesh bt Diya Chaudhary 2-6, 7-5, 6-1.

Doubles (closing): Diya Ramesh & Sohini Mohanty bt Aahan & Riya Sachdeva 6-3, 6-3.
