Ski Patrollers Caught in Avalanche at Mammoth Mountain as Storm Brings 6 Feet of Snow in 36 Hours

An enormous storm has enveloped the Sierra Nevada Mountains, with Mammoth reporting six ft of snow within the final 36 hours on the summit. With intense winds and moisture-laden snow, this storm brings harmful and unpredictable hazards within the realm of avalanche security.

Round 11:30 AM on February 14, two ski patrollers at Mammoth Mountain, California, have been caught in an avalanche off Lincoln Mountain whereas conducting avalanche mitigation work. The resort has confirmed that each patrollers have been rescued from the world. The primary patroller rescued sustained no accidents, whereas the second patroller was not as fortunate and has been flown to a different hospital for intensive care.

MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN, CA – At roughly 11:30 AM in the present day, two Mammoth Mountain Ski Patrol workers have been caught in an avalanche on Lincoln Mountain.
